Create an opportunity for ourselves to execute ideas through internal projects and demonstrate our capabilities in lighting design, experiential events and live broadcast multi-camera production.
Our first session focused on Glasgow-based alt-electro band, TONGUES, ahead of their debut album.
We built an immersive live studio auditorium in an old Biscuit Factory and designed unique lighting to be operated in real-time, correlating dynamically to each track.
Our concept was to match TONGUE’s distinct and contrasting sound with equally dramatic, mechanical lighting and glitchy graphic visualisations.
Lighting consisted largely of an array of eight Robe Pointe moving heads which gave us xtremely bright, sharp and distinct narrow beams, programmed to produce geometric patterns and movements to contrast against the warm glow of the background lights.
We were sure to give each recorded track a corresponding “look”, with variations in beam width, pace, frosting and ambient light created in real time.
The audio was recorded in full and uncompressed format for further mixing and mastering for later postproduction of the content and x7 4K camera feeds were edited in real-time for audience displays on set and for live-streaming on online channels.
The live stream content later got packaged up in unique music videos to be distributed by the band across their own channels in lead up to their first album release.
